Checking Complaint History of a Licensed Child Care Program

Translate this page.

The State Department of Public Health is the agency responsible for issuing and maintaining the licenses for Child Day Care Centers, Group Day Care Homes and Family Day Care Homes in Connecticut.

Parents are encouraged to check for information on the regulations, to check on possible complaints regarding licensing violations or to file a complaint against a licensed program if needed.

Licensing status and complaint history of providers is now accessible on-line. The new system allows the public to conduct on-line searches of child day care providers and displays basic license and inspection information, substantiated complaint history information, and formal discipline history information. To learn more, go to https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx and choose Child Day Care Center, Family Day Care Home, Family Day Care Assistant, Family Day Care Substitute or Group Day Care Homes as license type.

The Regulatory Action Report is a compilation of disciplinary actions taken against licensed individuals and organizations by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The report is updated on a quarterly basis and it is available to you on DPH's website for viewing and download.
